The Fast
Decide on a time
1) Prepare your mind for the fast. This helps you to be ready and to follow through
successfully. Give yourself a few days to prepare mentally and physically.
2.)Choose a time, date and duration of the fast. Be realistic!
Fluids are recommended
1.) Although there are many instances in the Bible where fasting
included both food and water, more good will be done for the body if plenty of fluids are taken during the fast.
Water helps to rid the body of toxins and helps the body's healing properties.
Esceptions to this might be those with severe heart, liver
or kidney disease.
2.) Depending on your reason for fasting, raw alkaline juices
are usually better than plain water or fruit juice.
a) Much of what we commonly overeat or abuse is highly acidic.
This can lead to a more feverish blood and can contribute to loss of will power.
b) Most fruit juices are very acidic. Toxins are more difficult
to rid from the body.
3) Drink at least 2 quarts of fluid per day during the fast.
A) If drinking alkaline juices or when drinking in general;
-sip slowly
-mix juice with saliva for better digestion
